LifeSkills

Special Education Resource Teacher: Mrs. S. Patterson

Students entering the Lifeskills program at CLC have the option of participating in either a four, five or six year program until they have reached the year of their 21st birthday.

As students progress through their high school program, emphasis will shift from the functional academic program in the earlier years to a total work education program in their later years at the school. Therefore, students in S4, who are anticipating graduation, will be registered in classes at Collège Lorette Collegiate, but will spend the majority of their time at a job site.

  4-6 Year High School Program

  • Functional Academics

  • Life Skills

  • Work Education

The role of the Special Education Resource teacher is to facilitate each student's education at our school, to ensure they have mastered the above skills to the best of their ability and to assist teachers and educational assistants in the student's programs.

The educational assistants at our school work with the students, assisting them when necessary to meet the goals of their individual programs.

Teachers who have Lifeskills students registered in their classes are part of that student's team and are involved in the planning of the individual programs.

Drama/
